Well i'm still working through roy rogers attempts at repairs on the car. I have had the cel on a couple of times saying bank 1 inlet camshaft sensor fault so i have bought the pair to fit.
Nice easy job on bank 1 (passenger side as your looking from the front) took 10 mins because i was chatting.
Now to bank 2, should the sensors be the same?
The one that is already fitted is a lash up and not fitted correctly, someone has extended the wiring (badly) the bolt being used is too big a diameter so they have dremelled it out to suit. As you look at the head the the sensor is pushed in but not even close to being fully home and the cable is coming off to the left insted of the right hand side.
Does anyone know where the threaded hole is in the head for the sensor to bolt up to? ( the one they have used is a lug at 11 o'clock as you look at the head and is pushing the sensor out to far.
I should have took pictures but i was getting arsey and was supposed to be working as well ::)

Re: Inlet camshaft sensors
Problem solved, they had snapped the old sensor off and left the broken piece of sensor and bolt in the head. I have pictures of the bodged wiring and the mess they have made of the sensor mounting hole ( the bodges must have taken longer than just removing the old sensor properly and doing the job right ffs. Rear subframe bushes after the bank holiday....... i'm dreading what has been done underneath >:(

Re: Inlet camshaft sensors
always annoys me when someone spends twice as long to bodge a job as it would have taken to do it right in the first place
btw .... this is what it should look like

Thats what i have fitted m8. I'm surprised it worked the way it was fitted because the sensor was only half way in the hole ffs. It's a doddle when you are not following a tool onto a job. I have checked everything else and it all looks good.
I have a sidelight bulb that needs changing so thats my job for tonight lol
