If you had to replace your beloved X5. What SUV would you choose?
I've always thought of another Cayenne but I was in New York the other day and got to go in a Chevrolet Suburban. What a vehicle. Totally impractical for UK roads- LHD, too long, to wide. But they have a stonking V8 under the impossibly high 'hood' line. Fully loaded and with a really high transmission tunnel just how I like it.Yum.
What's your choice?

I would just get another mk2 shogun and go stupid on the modifications again
Not the easiest to mess about with modifying but brilliant when completed )

The new Audi Q7 looks good, especially the interior which looks great, also.

Re: X5 replacement?
My E53 is my first BMW and first SUV, although my parents have had BMW's for over 25 years now.
Coming from VW's I looked at the Touareg and Q7 before I bought the X5.
My day has recently swapped his Q7 for an E70, he replaced his E83 X3 with the Q7, and I doubt will stray from BMW again.
I'm still really impressed with the BMW quality so to be honest, I'd not look further than another X5, the E70 40D really appeals as my next car, although will probably be getting a VW T5 first to carry all the family camping (glamping) gear, bikes and 3 kids.
The X7 looks like it could be good though, potentially offering boot space with the 3rd row of seats up.
