Tool kit in boot
The red nylon multiiwwrench is missing from the toolkit in the boot of my e70 - I cannot find it on realoem - does Anyone have a part number for it? Quick search didn't bring any up on ebay either. Will try to get sellingbmw dealer to supply one, but just in case.......

Re: Tool kit in boot
You 100% sure it should be there? From memory, when I looked I was surprised to see gaps in the toolkit but can't remember about that one though - I would have to look.

Re: Tool kit in boot
They were discontinued in 2011/2012 if memory serves. The 8-sp gearbox park reset capability (under the front left cup holder mat) was removed so the tool doesn't work anymore.
Part number and is now the Handbrake Emergency Release tool. Should be able to source one, though quite why they aren't still included for the handbrake I don't know? Unless the screwdriver is good enough?
I found it in the 'Brakes' section.

Re: Tool kit in boot
Ah, makes sense if it was discontinued.......there was just a gap there when I looked and so I automatically thought it was missing and should be there. My car was a late 2011 build registered Jan 2012 so would fall into the discontinuation time. Obviously they didn't change the toolkit storage area, leaving gaps!

The storage area will still be there because the e70 LCI X5 still has other models that don't have the 8 speed tranny (like the diesels)...and those models still require the tool. So instead of making 2 different trims for the trunk area...they just do the one...but if you don't need the tool...it isn't inserted in the space for it.
