I have X5 E70 and have stratched front headlight cover. I saw on ebay that someone sell just cover for headlight.
Have you experiences with replacing front headlight covers?

Your biggest challenge will be getting the damaged cover off. BMW started using a really tough cement that needed a saw to get through!
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
