Rise in oil on the dipstick!!

Hi gents, after a long drive error message popped up on dashboard, stop engine check oil pressure.
Pulled dipstick and oil right up it,,,
Took it in to local Indy and was told that it was the high pressure pump??,
I sorced one and Indy fitted it,,
Price
Bmw was over 1000 pounds
Indy was 615
Euro parts 365 for a bosh one
Indy fitting was 182
Plus fuel pipe 99 pounds
And a vacuum pipe 9.50
I've run it all week and now it is even better to drive than before,
Oil level has not risen one little bit,,,
