16:9 Sat Nav

Post by Sparsons2016 » Fri Jul 15, 2016 8:50 am

Morning all,

Has anyone suffered from this problem before:

I have the 16:9 Sat Nav. Everytime I take the key out and lock the car it loses all the settings - Time etc..

Also If i do not put the key in the ignition i do not have any power to the screen/cd changer or dvd for the sat nav disk.

I have checked all the fuses but to no avail..

Any ideas? I am assuming it does not have a constant power supply which i would have thought it needed?

Here's hopefully

Simon

When changed to IPhone 6 no connection ( bluetooth , music etc ) was missing some work related calls  so took it to an ICE installer  agreed on an Alpine head unit INE-W997D , AMP , 4 SPEAKERS and a small sub , it ended up expensive , but i love it , sounds amazing , + voice control for everything

It seems like part of the system is losing one of the power lines. I know from doing a retrofit install on my E46, and fixing my current E53 screen that there's a rats nest of cabling here...

WDS says Fuse 75, 5A looks to be the power to the monitor - worth double checking. This connects to pin 7 on X18801 - see if that is hot.

Thereafter, I'd be looking for bad connectors and maybe damaged cables. A friendly who can swap monitors - even from an E46 or E53 (you don't have to fit it to the dash, just connect it) - might be helpful.
