Colin that idea sounds good to me :) hope you are enjoying it whatever your doing or not doing.

I would like to say I'm doing the same, although I've been working on my holiday today, but it was my choice as unfortunately I have some deadlines to meet which I can't move, but it's been worthwhile getting those projects sorted out.

Now I can relax and enjoy life and the rest of the week by filling a skip I ordered for Thursday with a mate of mine with rubble from the drive and other garden rubbish we have accumulated,  I guess that is what holidays are for !

Colin, your itinerary sounds better than mine,

I got up did finances, then rung council re drains and gullies and rung water co re drains and gullies,  all because of a recent flood and issues with drains ever since in locality.

It's like wading through mud with these organisations,
sorry on my soap box now who fail to maintain gullies drains sewer or have sufficient capacity so getting no where fast,

Finished the soapbox now Anglian water coming out Thursday as it appear on investigation during last night rain we could see no surface drains on my side of the road, hence the driveway was having lots of water on it again.

Anyhow looking forward to skip filling tomorrow with my wife helping as well as my mate, I can't imagine what fun I have I store for Friday and the weekend, but can't wait :))

Jesus i dont think ive ever taken 2 weeks off. I dont think Ive ever used my yearly allowance of holidays, Ive always had to roll over. Even though I work in banking I am technically contracted to having to take 2weeks off!

Legally you have to take 20 days a year - including Public Holidays - if a permanent member of staff.  Of course Contractors can do as they please.  I rarely take my annual allowance but still try to take at least two 2-week breaks a year.  Can only roll so many days over.  Use it or lose it was the IT industry approach  :(

Hi
I guess as they say there is someone else worse off, especially not taking two weeks off in a row, I assume you are on call with their systems which is important if us customers can't get our money out!

Colin
Sorry to hear about you car.

Does this mean if your X5 has a flat battery does it also need a holiday?
or just to recharge its batteries?

Sorry I couldn't help that one.

I get 30 day allowance a yr. I've just never taken 2weeks off in one go.  I am meant to in banking due to AML as if your committing any sort of fraud or dodgy dealing then it takes around 2 weeks for it to come to light and this is written in my contract (I'm perm not a contractor) . Even when I'm on holiday im still dialling into meetings and checking emails. Does my Mrs nut in. Also with a 3yr old and a 6yr old staying at home is hardly a holiday!
