Voice Control discontinued??

Hi guys,

I don't think this has been raised on here already, and I'm looking for some help!

Very excited to have just ordered a new x3, but in finalising the options, the regular 6ns enhanced bluetooth with voice control option is 'greyed out', so non-selectable, and there is a new one listed as 6nw enhanced bluetooth with wireless charging. This is all fine, they're finally giving up on the cradles! But because voice control isn't mentioned in the new option I've asked my dealer. He is telling me that voice control is no longer available at all on x3's, which seems like a giant step backwards, and hard to believe! I've tweeted bmw uk and been told this is rubbish, its the old 6ns I need, but they seem oblivious to the fact that this option is no longer selectable online.

Really frustrating to get conflicting answers from dealership and bmw uk, can anyone shed any light on this?

It is possible that a new version is being planned and it is currently end of life with no stock remaining.  Other manufacturers do this if they cannot provide an option due to stock shortage.

There's been an issue in VW Group with certain options and leather colours due to overwhelming demand.

Could it be that?

PS Dealer Sales staff know less about the cars they sell than many Owners....which they should be ashamed about.  More than a few of us have had experiences of telling a sales idiot what the options actually do.  >:(

Hmm yeah I just don't know. Its really p-ing me off that they don't know what they're speaking about, although I'm sure its common, as you say. Even though the all new x3 is out late next year, they've just made final changes to new order F25s, including finally changing the steering wheel on m-sports and they're putting idrive 5 in them too, which will be good, so hopefully the voice control isn't a stock issue thing.

I feel a bit awkward about going back to the rep and telling him I (and bmw uk) think he's wrong, but not awkward enough to risk getting the spec wrong on our new motor!

It ain't the first time in my car buying experience that the salesman doesnt know the product he's selling and makes a cockup of the options for the customer![emoji35]
