Did you check third party warranty companies for alternative prices?

Yeah warranty direct cost even more they wanted 560... and done a research on it and had loads of people had bad experience with it . I don't think is a bad deal , bmw warranty now added tear and wear cover upto 100k miles .

For those considering Warranty Direct in the future, if you feign disinterest then you may well get a phone call a couple of weeks later offering better cover at a much lower premium.  It may only work for the first year, but it is one of their known sales tactics.

In my case I got their top cover for £200 less, though that was back in 2008.  Current BMW has the full extended warranty policy running (for now).

I got a quote from BMW Mondial recently on a 2009 Xdrive 35d with 62k miles. A mere snip at £2100 a year!

WD wanted £680 with no wear and tear cover for the first 3 months......

Yeah WD for first 3 months there no wear and  tear cover they quoted me that too . On my car I renewed before the current bmw  warranty ran out so I renewed it without a break in between so by doing that it cost much cheaper compare a car ran out of warranty then try to get a fresh warranty

I'd rather put the money in a savings account tbh.
Then again, i do 5k a year and don't need the car for work so can afford to wait to repair things.

I do very little miles too but just  peace of mine really . Average decent after market warranty varies between £250- £550 . So £426 from Mondial seems good value for money and like I mention on the earlier post it now includes the wear and tear cover upto 100k which makes the warrant much more attractive .

Wow, BMW want £1370 a month for a 2011 3.0d with 41k miles. Warranty direct are £550.

Does BMW go down after the first year? My 2011 5 series was only £64 a month, but it followed on directly from the manufacturer 3 year warranty, so less risk for them.

I think you mean £1370 a year surely?

No BMW doesn't go down.  The only way to get the price down is to pick a larger excess.  You can keep the price unchanged by paying monthly by DD.  Mine hasn't changed in nearly 3-years.

You also can get the price down by not taking the UK breakdown recovery cover too .

My manufacturers warranty expires when the car gets to it's 3rd birthday in Sept 2017. Will BMW UK offer me extended warranty or do i have to initiate contact?
The car has only done 9000 miles thus far (09/2014)
Is it worth having the extended warranty for piece of mind or a waste considering the expected mileage of 10k a year?
