After an 18 yr absence I've just been awarded 3 points

Post by 535dboy » Sun Jan 23, 2011 2:34 pm

As title suggests

Not come on here to moan as I believe if you are guilty you are guilty

Guy dressed in black with gun on footbridge over dual carriageway - 2 marked 5er wagons and BMW bike in next layby, I was already back on the limit when I saw them.

I was pretty much the only car on the road with nothing in front of me at all

The bike came to get me

Oh well

Absolutely gutted for you. I got caught for the very first time back in 2003 by a man in a van. I'd been driving for 25 years without any issues :x i was well and truly cross!!

What pee'd me off good and proper wasn't that I got caught, but the letter from the local Safety Partnership which went on about them using clearly marked vehicles. Well this was a brand new unmarked van. The other thing was that I was in the car at the time and the insurers weren't concerned at all. The bike insurers added £50 to the policy.

Ever since all our cars are fitted with Road Angels, mine a 'Connected' so it's sort of up to date.

Given how quick the X6 is, I'm going to have to be careful as it hits the limit very quickly. I have a warning on the HUD set below the limit!

Police seem to have a massive purge on speeding around here at the moment

Know of 4 people that have been caught on dual carriageway around where I work
Odd bit is it is mainly police officers in uniform with radar guns

M4 between J15 -J16 Swindon has a van permanently parked on the bridge :o

Must need to catch up on the revenue stream as during the snow time, the pickings must have been rare ...

Lol.
My License has been clean for 13 days in the last 10 years.
Never gone above 6 points though.

SP30's don;t really bother the insurance.
SP10's makes them prick their ears up. Exceeding the speed limit in a goods vehicle. 3.5t van is a goods vehicle...
Not an X owner yet.
Currently driving an 02 530D, M3 drift car and a Pajero in the snow..

If you mean what I think then I didn't react quick enough (as I didn't see anything) and mine is not as sophisticated as yours ;)

BG06 is the Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) equivalent code of SP30, which is the endorsement code for exceeding the statutory speed limit on a public road. The code is correct. My younger bruv is an ex Detective Chief Super ( :police: ), he's just been canned under Rule A19, aka "thanks, and goodbye".
