The X1 requires 17" alloys to clear the brakes, the e series fit as do the f series, ie the latest 3 series and you also have the benefit that they have the correct diameter tyres. E series cars have a smaller diameter wheel than the X1. Make sure you get the ones with the correct offset, as the 5 series have the same PCD but a much lower offset, 20 mm instead of the 37mm required by the X1. There are many good websites out there that will help,  bmwstylewheels.com is good to get the specification if the wheels and 'will it fit ' helps with understanding PCD.
I have just purchased a set of nearly new F30 alloys style 329
Once I put them on I will post a photo
Note the new f series cars use 14mm wheel bolts and the e series cars use 12mm bolts, but this isn't an issue as the wheel nuts hold the wheel not the bolts

F30 alloys on X11 E84

Post by Gregost » Sat Jun 04, 2016 10:15 pm

Car with new F30 alloys, they fit perfectly and the best bit they come with the right size tyres for the X1. I think they suit the car very well - Any thoughts?Image

It may be to do with the offset of the rim itself rather than the tyres.

I just put the same size wheels and tyres back on, 17's with 225 50 tyres, clearance is fine, but it is essential to check offset as BMW have many variations, check some of the websites I mentioned for advice
