Stupid Seatbelt Question!

Post by acarty » Tue May 31, 2016 11:05 am

Hi All,

A strange question but something that bugging me… I have had LCI rear lights coded into my 2009 E70 and initially the seatbelt warning was coming up when I started the car… it has now been recoded and when I start the car the seatbelt light stays on (but doesn’t show any warning until I drive away)… Is this right or should the seatbelt light go off as soon as the car is started?

Thanks!!

Mine goes out as soon as the seatbelt is plugged in.  Front passenger one only comes on if someone is in the seat.

Thanks for the reply, mine is the same. If I start the car from outside though (hand on the brake pedal) the light still comes on. It is always on when the car is started. It only goes out when as you say the drivers seatbelt is plugged in... I guess this is right?

That's normal, well just tried it on my 4.0d!!! Guess it's assuming that as the engine has started...there will be a driver.........
