From which side of London is that?

I cycle in from Hillingdon along the Uxbridge Road to Shepherds Bush and into the city (EC2), find it difficult to do more than twice a week as i need a laptop etc. But it's so exhilarating compared to sitting in the X3 for 90-120 mins EACH WAY!

I too go to EC2, from Harrow, via Kensington, Hyde park, wave at the Queen as I pass her house, occasionally show my middle finger to Dave at no 10 (depending on what he's on about), then follow the embankment to Blackfriars bridge, Bank[emoji13]

Did none of you ride bikes with non existence brakes?
Jam foot between rear tyre and frame was the default braking system....  Followed by a whack from mum every 2 weeks as you needed new shoes/trainers for school!
(she passed 18 months ago, and i remember the funniest strangest things :-)  )

I had a Chopper! Used to be foot on the front mud-guard [emoji13]. Occasionally foot goes too close to the fork and the wheel locks up, then it's bike over man[emoji38]

That reminds me, my mountain bike has been in the local bike shop for 6 months ! I had rear brake lever assembly go on me, so made the mistake of just buying the lever / master cylinder part and trying to bleed it myself, gave up after an hour. Also the brakes have been squealing like mad last few times out, so took it in to be done, made the mistake of saying no rush with it

Very nice ! What frame did you have before ?
Very good deals on Cannondale at the minute Super six tiagra , start cycles £799 down from £1399 even sticking a full ultegra group set on makes it a cheap carbon bike , wheel base have a synapse ultegra Carbon disc £1799 down from £2499 . Still hankering after a Cervelo S5 .

I agree, carbon bikes are no longer the out of reach luxury they once were. Decent high level group sets are becoming standard on most well known brands.
My last frame was a Cube Agree, very light frame, topping out at 7.5 KG all in. When I used to read the reviews on them , the only criticism was the DT Swiss wheels and lack of stiffness in the frame. I agree with the wheels bit as I trashed them in less than 12 months.
