hey guys
just to let ya all know that i had a advisory on the mot that the rear pipes were slightly corroded. that was back in november. anyhow.........i had to stamp on the brakes the other night as some noob pulled out in front of me and after that the brakes felt really spongy. i went to use the car the next day and noticed all the brake fluid was pissing out behind my rear wheel so its at an indy having both rear sections of pipe replaced along with new fluid.
total bill is around £260 inc vat which is about £300 cheaper than bmw lol
if anybody else has corroded pipe please get them done A.S.A.P as it seems they can let go at any time

Re: rear brake pipes leaking
Good advice....was it close to the rear sill exit point? That seems to be a favourite corrosion site.
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Hi
Glad your ok and also you spotted the leak before. Going out in the car again.
Also the price seems to be reasonable

Re: rear brake pipes leaking
Yeah the price seems pretty good actually. Thx bro
Re: rear brake pipes leaking
BMW main dealer price for replacement of rear brake pipes was a crazy £1350 which they "kindly" offered to discount to £950..........cost of pipe and brake fluid about £30 and rest lunatic main dealer prices - apparently its listed as a 7 hour job.
I told them not to bother and booked into local garage and it turns out there was no/ minimal corrosion anyway so didn't need doing, but they had said it would be around £300ish if it had to be done,so thats a good price.
