Since, I've just replaced the bonnet cable, there is a good chance this is due to me not seating the grommet properly. But a quick google suggests I should also check the sunroof drains to see if they're blocked. Anyone know where they exit so I can stick some wire up 'em!

I think Ive probably found the culprit, I went to check the scuttle cover thing under the bonnet because theres a thread in here where a clip had come loose and the guy had a wet drivers floor. I remembered seeing a popped up clip on the scuttle cover when fixing the bonnet release
... unclipped the cover and tried to pop the spring clip back down... won't stay down... remove scuttle cover and hey presto the entire driver side corner of the plastic bay under the cover is missing! No wonder it wont stay down -- there's nothing to clip it into... I don't know what monkey had this car before me.
