Delving into the Darkside
Well I've committed myself to the wrong side of the tracks once and for all. Paid my deposit on the new Tesla Model 3 today. I would love a model X but just can't justify the money so a well specced 3 for me it is.

I like!
I personally think this is a far more realistic long term alternative to the internal combustion engine than hybrids, but I guess only time will tell if I'm right or not.

First deliveries slatted for late 2017 but as Tesla have a history for running late I wouldn't be surprised if it was 6-12 months late. I estimate I'm at least six months after delivery starts so someway off yet.

To early to say. Until specs and local prices are confirmed then we will know.

Having test driven a Tesla Model S P85D, phew! the performance was out of this world!
You're right the days are numbered on the internal combustion engine I feel. Hydrogen is around the corner as well.
That's one reason to enjoy engines as we know, while we can actually [emoji13]

Re: Delving into the Darkside
Tesla had an event day in Belfast a couple of months ago but l was unable to attend so I haven't experienced the car yet. The combustion engine is a long way from being phased out but with cars like the Tesla and other manufacturers joining the race the thril of driving may continue long into the future.

As I'm only 6 months into a 3 1/2 yr lease this can wait a while, but I have registered. If the prices are good when the £:$ conversion is done then this one makes more sense - and looks better - than the i3. The range would give me three days commuting before a charge is needed and there is talk if putting charging stations in at work.
As Don says the IC engine is far from dead and electric cars are getting better. Hydrogen fuel cells are still a little immature, and fuel availability will be an issue for a good few years yet.
I need something to carry 2 adults and a 3 year old plus luggage which has (so far) eliminated too many of the 'sensibly priced' versions.
