Newbie with X3 F25....has replaced X5 e53

Post by tintinx5 » Wed Mar 30, 2016 2:07 pm

Not posted for a while as the X5 never really gave me any issues..sad to see it go ...now onto the next phase of BMW ownwership in the form of a X3 F25. Picked it up last week from the main dealers and had a great run down to Cornwall over the weekend.
Spec is X3 F25 2.0d Motorsport with Msport plus package, Interior comfort package and of course heated steering wheel ( had to have that as the X5 had the option fitted).
And here she is in all her glory....

Fab looking car.
The more I see the newer F25 X3 Msport's the better I like them.

You have great taste, it's like looking at mine in the mirror. Best colour combination imo  :)

What made you go for the X3 over another X5?  For me it was time to try an X, having owned a 3 series and two 5 series.
My needs didn't warrant the bulk of an X5, the proportions of the X3 are spot on.

same reason pinewood....X5 just didnt match my needs whereas the X3 was bang on. Fluttered with a 3 series as there was a serious dealer & BMW contribution in the mix of about 5K to get them shifted before the facelift model arrives....still didnt swing the decision...X all the time for me
and yours is looking good as well

Any mods/upgrades planned?  I want to get the nearside wing mirror coded to drop down when i'm parking.  I have read it's possible to set the auto stop start to OFF?  Would prefer this as i override it frequently.

no mods planned as yet...although you never know. as for the start stop function, Im not sure if you can totally turn it off as its looks at several parameters such as engine temperature, external temperature, battery condition and several other things Im sure before it becomes fully active. Once fully active I believe you can then turn it off. Probably buried in the i drive sub sub sub sub menu somewhere....not that you can tell its taking me a while to get my head around the i drive.... :'(
