This thread has been quiet for a while now so thought I bring it alive for the newbies (like me) out there.  ;)

Following the information shared and advice offered on this thread I have purchased two sets of 20mm hubcentric MTEC wheel spacers off eBay.

I have a 2006 X5 30d MSport with the 20" OEM factory rims. I'll be fitting these 20mm spacers to all fours corners of the next coming days and will share my findings/experiences.

(oh yeah, will be doing wheel balancing and full alignment at the same time).

Watch your tread position....if it exceeds the arch you may need extensions beyond those already (?) fitted.

They were standard on 20" factory fit cars.

Yeah thanks X5Sport, my X5 came with the wheel arch extensions already (look like the plastic ones standard on the 4.8is) so my 20" rims must have been fitted from the factory. Do you think these will be fine?

I did a measurement on the top of the outside edge to the exterior end of the wheel arch and looks like I could even install 30-40mm spacers per corner but definitely didn't want to push it.

I've got 20 mm front and 30mm rear arriving in the post in the next few days. Just got to get some new tyres on first.

I was running 30mm rears and could have gone wider tbh on my OE 20's. 20 or 25mm fronts too from memory.

Just had the 20mm fitted all round and they look great! To be honest and as you say Raj, I could go wider on the rears, 30-40mm I guess. The fronts are perfect with 20mm.

themoog, I think you'll have the perfect combination if you are running the 20" OEM rims.

No just standard 19's. Ive got to iron x the wheels and repaint the calipers as well. Bit of a small project.

I'm sure they'll work well for 19's too.
If you need to go wider than 30mm on the rears then let me know, I'll be happy to take the 30mm rears off your hands.  ;)

Well i put the spacers on today-20 front, 30 rear. The front is possibly 5mm too wide but the rear is good. Looks much better. Steering feels a bit lighter. Bolts all torqued up etc. Chuffed.
