glow plug error & boot power fail after Inspection II
glow plug error & boot power fail after Inspection II
Hi guys,
I got my SD back from the main dealer following its inspection II.
As always i had a long list of things that dont really matter or need replacing which i chose not to have done.
My power boot stopped working the first time i went to use it which im not happy about and its booked back in tomorrow as it was fine before the service... but in the few days waiting for it to be looked at i decided to check the error codes to see the boot fault. Its now also showing glow plugs and glow plug controler errors! This seems highly suspect days after an Inspection II?
Not happy... has anyone else had anything like this? Seems im in for a long moan when i drop it off...

I didn't think e70 did inspection services
What was done on your inspection 2?
What are you using to read the codes and errors?

Re: glow plug error & boot power fail after Inspection II
It wouldn't be fixed on a service anyway, and unless they plugged the car into their computer it would not show up.
I would be asking questions of the Dealer, such as why they failed to pick it up, especially on a major service? I know my Dealer does a full check every time the car goes in - even for a winter tyre change - so IMHO it should have been found.
Lack of care, shoddy work, bad 'technician'? Could be any or all!

Absolutely true what Richard has posted the dealer tech would just only do what's been asked of and be getting on with the rest of cars that are on that list for the day as its commission based, the more cars you work and complete more pay!
If it's not written on the job sheet it won't get a look at!

I took mine in for new pads and disc they found air bag suspension leak faulty glow plugs and control unit our local dealership always seems to give the car a once over and send a video of the car on the ramps and send a recorded video of the faults
Re: glow plug error & boot power fail after Inspection II
Thanks for replies.
That's the thing, the boot issue was caused i think by over zealous use of cleaning fluid on the 'upgraded' vallet service. Under the spare wheel cover hatch was wet with cleaning fluid when i checked it after the boot stopped responding. It was slippery kinda like silicon spray. They have it today so I'm waiting to hear back.
Its a main dealer and they would've scanned the codes but my issue is the boot, glow plugs and controller all after picking it up after a major service? Little too much coincidence i think when all were fine before it.
Oh and yes its the official carly.
