Wanted : Looking for a beyond repair E53 16:9 Navigation Screen/unit

Just wandering if anyone has one of this that they want to donate for my experiment.

I am no wozniak but trying to experiment with adding a contraption to integrate a 6" android phone with the NAV Unit

I have some Velcro, and you can simply stick the Android phone to the Nav Screen lol.

I would be very careful about connecting anything from the car to the phone electrically (except a charger) as a fire will be the likely outcome, or fry the cars operating systems & computer.

The BMW operating system is based on Can-Bus operations, and will in no way what so ever be compatible with android in any way.
BMW's operating systems are a big enough pain in the butt as they stand, let alone when interfered with.

With respect, Unless you are a writer of Machine Code with a Phd in electronics, I would totally abandon this concept of melding a phone to the car systems.

lol

I was not planning on an electrical integration into the Nav unit.

I was looking at a rebuild of the front  clipped on facia of the Nav unit to incorporate docking of a 6". Something your 3D printer will be good at :)

I did not think far enough about the power connection
