Well relative to the Falkens which only did 12k. The Falkens were the last attempt to fix the ride otherwise it was getting sold hence why I fitted a mid range tyre, to test the water, but they had a good reputation. They were fine, fixed the poor ride and of course I kept the car but I guess the cheaper price is reflected in this case by the mileage they did. The Michelins were recommended by someone else on here so the next set I switched. The missus loves it now, 150k and I cant tempt her out of it... well not unless i can find 60k for a Macan,.. which i cant :'(

I am glad I have seen this thread as I need a new set of tyres ready for summer.
I too think that Latitude Sport 3's seem to be the way forward.
Currently I'm running 18" winters (non runflat) and they give a much better ride that the 20" OEM runflats.

I'm really not sure about the "Star" rating, it looks to me to be more of a marketing tool. Same with Porsche and the "N" ratings (I wouldn't dare say that on a Porsche forum however).
As soon as the tyres get a bit worn, get a bit unbalanced on pressure or temperature the star rating may as well come off as well..?

I'm not purchasing for a month or two but interested to see what others are doing and will continue to look for reviews etc.

What us this airman kit you speak of?  Is it a gunk you put into the tyre in the hope of sealing it?  I carry a air inflator in each of our cars anyway.

My F25 X3 has a staggered setup with 19" runflats. Is there something i need to be aware of?

For info, my wife called the insurance company yesterday.
She asked if we were ok to use non-runflat tyres. Once she had explained what run-flat tyres were, they checked the and said it is fine.
Also confirmed that the winter tyres are ok.

The funny thing is that when she said we now keep the X5 in the garage, the annual premium went up by 30p  ::)

I think I'm going to get some Latitude Sport 3's.
