High Beam Assist 5AC

Post by bluestreak56 » Sat Feb 06, 2016 1:06 pm

I have this option on my X4 and I used it the other day. It does come on and go off automatically when street lights are identified but I was flashed by a driver coming the other way because it didnt turn off when it should have recognised his lights.

One off? Or do you think this was because his lights wernt bright enough? Or was he just being fussy?

Have this on the A7, can keep the high beam always on, system will auto-dip as needed. The oncoming flash was perhaps his car going over a bump or something?

Got infrared based night vision too[emoji106][emoji39]

Even Skoda have it now.  It occasionally misreads tail lights, but headlights it reacts to instantly.

I have this on my X4 and it works fine. In fact I used yesterday and was impressed at how fast it responded to on coming traffic.

Make sure the sensor (camera) and the windscreen in front of it are clean, though it is supposed to be sensitive enough to pick up lights at 1000m. It is obvious when it operates from the high beam indicator going off and on. It only works though when auto lights are selected as well.

Thanks DiscusbT - I always leave the auto lights on, will ensure the screen is clean.
