So Who Else's 20 Inch Replacement Wheels Continued to Corrode?

Been a while - Had a replacement set installed in May 2015 and one of the rears is already gone around the centre caps with the others soon to follow

Car out of warranty now so either a refurb or paint. Shame as these wheels are awesome when clean and not corroded.

Mine are still ok they were replaced may also, i may be wrong but do the replacement wheels not have a years warrenty on them

Yip mine have corroded again and been replaced all replacement wheels come with 2yrs warranty

I picked up my AUC in June 2015, slight corrsion round one wheel and so I monitored it.

By Sept 2015 every single wheel had corrosion around the centre bore. So booked in and all refurbished and look new (under warranty). Wheels were not put back on as I swopped to my winter wheels.

If they have done that before I don't expect it to last more than a couple of years I think.

Mine have the usual corrosion marks around the centres too. Anyone know if they covered by the bmw comprehensive warranty?

Mine were re-furbished under warranty but I left them to get worse so they could not argue it was that bad.

Had mine replaced today. They were replaced originally by the previous owner in Oct 2014, I bought the car in Feb 2015 and they were ok. Between then and now they have been corroding from the centre hubs outwards on each wheel. Ran it into BMW Halliwell Jones and they did an assessment, sent the pics off to BMW UK and they authorised the replacement FOC.

I bought a 2012 model in April 2015 and within 6months there was corrosion. First garage bmw parklane didnt want to know but i went to coopers and they were very helpful. 3 months later (now Feb16) alloys have been replaced under warranty FOC.

I would say even if your car is older than 3 years ask dealer to submit a claim on your behalf. Many other models are also affected including 5 series GT. what have you got to lose?
