Back in an X5

Post by X5pete » Sat Jan 30, 2016 2:55 pm

Sold our previous E70 X5 35d back in November 2014.moved on to an RRS and a L405 FFRR.  Just picked up our new X5 - 40d M Sport with lots of options - Pano roof, Harman Kardon, Reverse Camera, 20" alloys, Carbon Black and Black leather.

Its great to be back in an X5 and it feels like a rocket ship coming from the FFRR!

A few pictures, taken by the dealer...

Good to see you back in the X, can I ask how you found the RR other than the lack of speed.

The RR didn't lack speed, it was the SDV8 engine, so was torquey and fast. The RRS was just the SDV6 and that is not as refined as the BMW 6 pot diesel.

Where the X5 feels much better is roadholding, with more of a sporty feel to it, and the technology - navigation, infotainment and the user interface with iDrive, is light years ahead of the JLR product, Build quality is also better.

Having said that the latest FFRR is the daddy of SUVs, a superb vehicle with immense presence and I am very glad to have owned one, and equally as glad that i got out relatively financially unscathed!
