HELP! needed cd player....

hi all picked up my e53 x5 the other day and after my audi estate its a much nicer ride but, its falling to bits. fixed the hedgehog after researching this common problem.

Now the business cd player thing wont except music cds, should it? is there a fault with these?
or is there a process to go though to load the cd?

it doesnt have a cd changer and has stumped me.

Firstly, what is the build year of your E53
Is it a facelift or pre facelift.
Has it got factory sat nav or has it got the single slot CD and MID unit.
It helps other members help you easier if you put your car details in your signature/ profile.

Hi Joe,
you got the same vehicle as me... but mine is a 2004 3.0 D- Sport.

the autochanger lives UNDER the Navigation Disk player...
if its the same set-up, it will have a 6 disk module you pop all 6 disks into & then load them back into the changer, then slide the cover shut & you're away... after selecting CD mode at the radio...

Im wondering if you are trying to load a music disk into the navigation disk reader  ?

sorry all its a 53 prefacelift, it doesnt have the large sat nav screen just a display for the stastions. it also has a business cd slot directory above the radio display.

this is the jobby I have is it a cd played on top on for something else as there is no cd changer in the boot.

That's the single shot CD. Should just pop it in and it starts to play so I guess there's a problem with the mechanism.

hummm maybe a trip to asm needed then. as mine doesnt want to eat a cds.

ye its fecking cold here at the min im near benson and around -6.5 this morning!

Shame it's not a facelift, as I've got a CD single slot player out of a facelift (55 plate )
The quad-lock is different, so they are not interchangeable.

thanks for the offer pal. never mind looking at getting an all in one android head unit to replace it.
