Post by Sidneyjames » Wed Dec 30, 2015 3:09 am

Hi guys,

Managed to get a headlight but there's one  ballast missing.  Any ideas where I can get one from.

I've linked to the e53 but you don't say which model you have so may need to change search criteria.

Got the ballast from the stealers in the end. £90 so not too bad. Problem is one the lights is purple whilst the other is normal white! Any ideas anyone?!

It could be that youve got 2 different bulbs in there. Ie the colour temp. I think the standard ones are 4300k , but some people fit higher versions 6000k and above..The higher the k figure the blue,er the light...

It is usually best practice to change ballast and tubes together.
Chances are once one has gone, and it hasn't taken the other out, it soon will!!!

I know this is not technically what you were initially asking, but might save you in the long run.
If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....

The light has two led repair kit modules, look like spikes on the underneath of the headlight. I tried swapping them around n the purple tinge moved over so the issue is definitely to do with the module. It's £200 from the stealers! They reckon too it's in its way out so looks like it's another £200 gone!
