Hi.
So I'm trying to get the webasto on my 2006 3.0d working.
I have a remote installed, coded the aux heating but now I have the following errors...
33 IHKA: Inside-sensor fan
21 IHKA: IH check valve. LHA changeover valve
I checked the Inside sensor-fan by pulling out the climate control on the cabin. It sounded like the motor jumped as I pulled the controller out and when I looked at it....the motor was turning just fine.
Both of these faults occured after installing the remote and trying to activate it from the key fob. Previous to this, I was able to run the webasto by the MID in the cab.
Any ideas?
Why would activating the webasto by the remote cause these two faults to appear?

Webasto woes
Re: Webasto woes
Hi
Have you tried disconnecting the remote??
I as you know have it installed and it runs fine. I can't see why the remote setup made any difference.
I would disconnect the Webasto telestart and see if that cures the problem. Also if you put 12 on pin 1 on the Webasto unit under the bonnet does it start up??

Re: Webasto woes
Hi Tim.
Yes-thats a good point....its late now and too dark to be messing ! So i'll see what happens when I disconnect the remote, but I think this fault is not related.
Its slightly more complicated...When I say I could start the heater via the MID, I was still getting a fault.
I replaced the aux circulating pump as it was dead which led me to a "combustion air fan" fault. The heater would fire up for a few minutes and then shut off.
I figured that as I could hear the fan starting up, then starting to wobble and then the unit cutting out, it was maybe just sleepy from lack of use-I have a date with a webasto service agent who will take the unit out and give it a once over...
But what I need to resolve is the other obvious issues as they won't take care of those - they will only service the heater.
I'm not too concerned about the 33 IHKA: Inside-sensor fan fault as i'm putting that down to a stuck motor....the fault has not yet returned.
But now the only function at the moment is the aux heater tries to start up - the climate control display comes alive, I can hear the webasto start but then the whole lot shuts down.
It would seem like that changeover valve is stuck or dead and stopping the process from starting. I'm sure that once I fix this....the combustion air fan fault will resurface...but at least I know I can sort that via the webasto agent.
New changeover valve ? Tap it with a hammer?

Re: Webasto woes
Is it possible to remove the change over valve and strip it down?? It is probably just stuck.
Got to be worth a try.
I don't think that the telestart has anything to do with the faults you have. It's more like lack of use. Maybe a slight tap on the valve would be enough to free it. I would try this too!.
Problem is that the pumps do operate that much ( only in cold condtions). Mine runs when the key goes in first thing in the morning at the moment to aid with warm up.but in the summer it would not activate for months hence causing problems.

Re: Webasto woes
Yes it looks easy enough to get at but I'm not sure about stripping it down. Looks like a pretty solid/sealed component.
The funny thing is....a couple of days ago, it was cold and I drove for a bit, pulled up at my destination a couple of miles away and was totally freaked by the white smoke following me ! I jumped out fearing the worst and to my delight, it was emissions from the small webasto exhaust !
So it does work !
I'm guessing that maybe that change-over valve only operates when you engage the aux heating-its open when running to heat the engine.
When I activated the heater via the remote, the valve got stuck perhaps?
I'm looking at item 4 here:

Re: Webasto woes
Just to be sure....the diagnostic says to "check LHA change over valve"....is this the water valve I refer to above (item 4)?
Or am I looking at the wrong thing?

Re: Webasto woes
To be fair my Webasto hardly produces any smoke. So there maybe a problem with yours???
I would of thought that the valve you are referring to is probably the one. Are there any electrical connections going to it??? What happens if you unplug it then try starting the Webasto. Do you get same error code? That would help diagnose problem.
