Problems after cluster removal

Post by cwmparc » Mon Dec 07, 2015 3:13 pm

Hi all, I removed the instrument cluster from my 2001 x5 to see about repairing the ribbon cable.
I put it back in without any repairs, but now I have the abs and the amber brake warning lights on.
Has anyone any ideas what the problem could be? I have made sure the three cables are seated and clipped in properly.
Many thanks
Adrian

Try steering wheel full left & right turn a couple of times if that doesn't work remove battery for 30mins negative terminal for 1/2 hour to see if it resets the system.

Thank you, turning the steering a few times did the trick. You're a star  :)
