Hello, my first post on here!
I've jist got a 2007 X5, with USB Interface. I've got my Ipod running through it. It works fine, except I can't get it to stay in Random Play. Every time I stop and restart the car, its back to alphabetical order. How do I make it stay in Random Play? Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum
I would be interested to know if this is possible too, as it's a pain scrolling through the songs via the IDrive . it's surprising how many songs begin with A. It takes an age to get T

Re: Random Play
My iPhone using the current IOS version has the same issue on my Skoda. Sometimes it goes back into random play, and next time it goes into repeat or A to Z! I suspect it may IOS that is the issue. It makes no difference if I'm using it on Bluetooth or USB.
The latest version still has some serious bugs in it that Apple have yet to sort out. It's the same on Car Play which VAG cars now support.

Re: Random Play
I'm using an Ipod Classic, so its not an IOS problem.
Re: Random Play
Hmmmm. OK, have you tried patching the car software via the BMW Owners area? You can get media system patches to install via USB.

Re: Random Play
I had the same problem with an iPod Classic, 40Gb version. Was told by the dealer's Master Tech that it was an Apple Device that wasn't fully supported by the car (2010 E70) and when I tried an iPod Touch sure enough it worked OK.
Hope that helps

Re: Random Play
Thanks, that was going to be another question, how can I do an upgrade of the car software? I can't find any options on the I-Drive menu.
Re: Random Play
Usually done via the USB port in the glovebox. It may be that the option only appears when an available update has been detected plugged into that port?
