X5 MSport 2010 Rear Camera question
Hi all,
Is the standard reversing camera (With PDC) supposed to display dynamic guidelines, to aid numpties like me into parking spaces? My rear camera view seems to show a couple of lines at the bottom of the picture, but no dynamic guides.
Cheers
Damian

Re: X5 MSport 2010 Rear Camera question
Just had a reversing camera retrofitted to my 2014 X4. Im not certain this is the same as yours but it has red and green lines along the road surface to indicate direction and red / amber / green blocks appear to indicate distance to an object. Its hard to explain but I hope that makes sense and helps?

Yep thats what i was expecting, but alas on my 2010 factory fit unit no lines. wonder if this is a fault / calibration issue...
Re: X5 MSport 2010 Rear Camera question
Interesting as my 2010 X6 (MY2011) has them.
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

There is a setup that turns them off and on - both the lines and the blocks
Go into settings I think

Hmm can't see an option to enable or disable grid lines on the rear camera in any of the available menus. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Cheers

Re: X5 MSport 2010 Rear Camera question
My 2011 looks like the one above.
Those options on the left hand side at the bottom (the 2 options with the 'P' on them) are what control the lines and the highlighting of objects. Are yours ticked or unticked?
Re: X5 MSport 2010 Rear Camera question
You can switch them off that way. Mine are off at the moment as I never trusted them

Re: X5 MSport 2010 Rear Camera question
Tis LCI - has the newer list based iDrive rather than the old star based iDrive and has the new controller. The camera input seems to be out of place with the rest of the configuration making me think it may be an after market thing...

Bah! Oh well. I may get BMW main dealer to confirm. Toying with taking it in for the DAB retrofit option anyway.
Thanks for replying.
