???Does my X5 have swirl flaps???

Hi,

I have a 2005 X5 3.0d and have been told conflicting info with regard to it having and not having swirl flaps.

My brother in law has a '55 plate X3 3.0d and his has them which he's blanked off, however I have been told X3's do have them and my X5 does not.

Can anyone shed some light on this please.

Not sure about earlier, pre-facelift models but the 05' X5 certainly doesn't have them

Do a search on here.

No e53, whether pre or post facelift, has been found to have flaps.

As above.....never fitted to the E53.  Later models have them.

I'm grateful for your feedback.

I did do a search but found them a bit hit and miss but from your replies and advise already received, I can pretty much say my X5 doesn't have them.

I also have a 2008 335d msport coupe which I am blanking them off on next week and would have done them together, so you've saved me some beer drinking time  )

either ebay or make yer own for nothing

If you take it off, clean it with carb cleaner, refit it to the engine , then just blank off the vacuum pipe it will not open, so does the same job as blanking it. Future MOT, may require checking the valve as they did with DPF's

Edit : it is also illegal to interfere with emission control systems on cars. Beware
