Turbo trouble!! Wooshing sound from behind dash and no boost. Help!!!

Hi all,

The X recently lost all boost and I could do with some advice before biting the bullet and taking it in the local indy.

Not getting any smoke under acceleration and there is suction on the pipe coming from the vacuum control thingy which I'm told should mean that the turbo is working correctly?

I have checked all hoses going to and from the intercooler and all appear to be intact and connected properly but there are some which are hard to reach so I can't totally rule this out as being the problem.

There is a loud wooshing sound coming from behind the dash under acceleration when the turbo should be kicking in so not sure if this will indicate anything?

Any advice will be very much appreciated.

To me that sounds like a boost leak, either a hose has come off, or split.

I remember a similar post some time back, it was a cracked plastic inlet manifold. Worth keeping in mind.

Problem solved!

It was an easy fix, apparently a faulty sensor. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find out the exact part but only cost me £40 inc parts and labour!!
