So all x6 new glow plugs that went in 8 weeks ago are cooked. Which is why i'm told the DPF would not heatup/regen, and why in turn then it threw an error code and went into limp mode.

So by process of elimination I'm told its the £124 glow plug controller unit that had failed.

I only wish they could have found the cause of my woes, before sticking me with nearly £1800 of cost to cure symptoms :(

Hopefully that's the end of this now, for a very long time!!!

6 months on, and the dreaded warning light is back on, and car is in limp mode (3rd time now!).

I am beyond p***ed off, and will be heading back to the "specialist" today to have serious words!!!

Will let you know what they say is wrong with it this time...

If the plugs are all cooked, it could be the controller keeping them on?  Or even the controller itself faulty.

The lack of a temperature gauge is one of the issues that worries me.  I would rather have that than the damned silly econometer any day.

Even my new Skoda has a temp gauge as well as an oil temp function in its version of the iDrive!
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

The latest update...

The cleared the Error Codes, drove it 60 miles, and it Regen'd twice no problem?!

They have asked I drop it back in to them after 100 miles, as they recorded some "deviation" (?) which they said could be the turbos on the way out.

Mileage is only now at 76k - so i bloomin hope not...  this car is getting me down :(
