I apologise if this has been discussed before but I couldn't find anything.
Message came up to replace rear brake pads, I am on 62400miles currently and wondering how do I figure if discs need replacement too? There is nothing in I drive about disks under Vehicle information, only about pads oil etc.
Will there be a message when discs need replacement or specific mileage or should I ask guys in the garage to have a look?
It is e70 3.0d lCi (2011)
I am second set of pads but not changed discs yet
Cheers,
Val

Re: Brake discs replacement question
No you won't get a message about the discs. You need to measure the thickness of the actual disc. If there is a bad lip around the outside then the chance is they might be approaching end of life. Discs don't need doing that often unless used by the last of the demon late brakers.....

Ive got a full set of Pagids in my car, there good, but they do give out a lot of black dust, making the nice shiny wheels , look dull quickly....
