Paint Correction

Post by ImaginativeTruth » Wed Sep 16, 2015 5:09 pm

Hello All,

I have carbon black 40d. The paintwork is terrible despite a trip to BMW bodyshop. It looks like someone has polished it with a wire pad.

Paint correction is in order I think - but so far  quotes are coming out at £600 - £800+. I'm genuinely wondering if having the car resprayed is a better option given this cost.

Thoughts? - suggestions?

its not as bad as it looks, that would come out of clear coat, BMW paint is notoriously quite hard, compared to say a Vauxhalls paint, however its defo not respray !!! hold onto your factory paint.

This is AFTER the car has been to the BMW bodyshop. For.A.Week. They even applied 'A-Glaze' on top of it 'for free'.

Exactly what i would be doing, megs 105/205 is spot on for a 2 step finish on harder paints.

I had mine detailed whilst in the UK around 4 weeks ago and made a tired paint job look fantastic - looked better than the day I collected my car 7 years ago... well worth the money.

Don't consider a re-spray!

Just had a full paint correction job done on my Sapphire Black X6 and it's made a huge difference.  It's a 2011 but the paint was quite flat & dull and was covered in swirls and fine scratches. I only picked it up last Monday as I had it done while I was on holiday - would have normally taken 3 days but I left the car with him while I was away. I have to say it looks fantastic now, the black seems much richer & the metallic shows so much more - well impressed!

It cost me £500 and that included a full detail and sealant coating on all the paintwork, glass and alloys.
