Thanks

2015 (F15 model)

The previous E70 model had the 6-speed sports auto .

Personally , I prefer the 6-speed - I find 8 gears too much (although it works well in the diesel )

Ok thanks, are there any fundamental issues known with the X5m I would need to be concerned about?

Apart from silly road tax (I pay £42 a month) ; rubbish fuel economy (approx 9mpg around town and 15mpg on a gentle long run) not a lot. I hear coil packs can be an issue but that won't be too expensive .

If you can afford to run one , they are staggering cars ! Supercar performance and would beat most cars round the bends ! (quite how BMW achieve this still amazes me !)

I was speaking to DMS yesterday and they told me they can get around 680bhp now with just software !!!!!  O:-)

What year are you thinking of buying ?

You'd better watch the depreciation ; list price on mine new was £92k , at exactly 12 months old , with only 7k miles and mint condition I was offered just £44k part ex against a GT-R , so it's lost nearly £50k in 12 months  :))

Was looking at a 2011 model.  I have a 2011 40d at the moment which I love. Just curious about the gearbox.

It's a later update of the same 6sp box that causes so much grief and trouble in the E53, slightly uprated torque converter obviously.  :)

More reliable than the Mk1 version at least  :disgust:

It sounds like a very expensive hobby, but I guess if you have 680 is a lot of power and a lot of smiles in a mapped X5 :)
