Swirl flaps on a 2009(09) 3.0d X5?

Hello all,
I am viewing a 2009 09 plate pre lci auto 3.0d X5 tomorrow and was wondering if this engine has the swirl flaps? I have never owned a diesel bmw so I dont really have any knoledge regarding this and I can't find a straight answer online.

just done mine on a d35 2009. nice and easy to do to.

Only the E53 escaped from that device of the devil!  The E70 onwards all have them on the diesels..  :cry1:

Allegedly the failure rates are now far, far less.

as everyone keeps ripping them out!!!!!
If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....
Please note...
Anything I say is only from my personal experience and knowledge..
I don't assume to know everything, and know there is a lot I don't know..
But then I could be talking bollox.. O:-)

One of my mechanics told me the failures were less common, but when they do let go, its a hefty bill.
I got them swapped out with blanking plates when i had to have the EGR valve swapped out so half of the labour was done.

MPG has gone up on average by about 1.5 on my commute over the last 6 months or so.
