It is carbon black, I think the grille finishes it off well.

Yes I got the black performance grills fitted to my new carbon black m sport, only a 30d though, really happy with the car & colour but the paint does mark easy even cleaning off soaked bird crap can leave light scratches.

I agree, i've got more scratches on this car than my 45,000 mile E70 ,the paint seems to be very easily marked, i always thought bmw paint was pretty robust ???

Mine is going into a local detailer to get a full paint correction & protection package, 2 day job, once that's done I'm doing the 2 bucket wash weekly & no rubbing at marks as the swirls they leave really bug me but at least there is no tar issues, my last white one had loads of tar & stains on it even though I had fitted mudflaps.
