Hi everybody.
I've just got myself an E83 X3 2.0d Sport after coming from an E87 1 Series.
Look forward to reading and learning all about my X3
Here's a couple of pics it.

from a fellow noob to another welcome, full of info this board and some very knowledgeable members.
Re: Hello fellow XDrivers
Thanks for the welcome. Firstly trying to get info on the swirl flaps and vortex breather. Luckily my 1 Series didn't have flaps so seeing what size of blanking plates I need for my X3. Sure its 22mm, but trying to find out and also what the vortex breather looks like compared to the one on my 1 Series.

another thing to check is your thermostats

For peace of mind check your fuel filter as well. Mine and a mates had a full BMW service history but none had been changed.

For a safe measure I would also recommend getting your turbo oil feed pipe checked/replaced.
How do you find your clutch? have you heard of the clutch delay valve mod?

Thanks for that. So looks like it is 22mm blanking plates I need, as our cars seem to be the same model and similar age. It's just been serviced and MOT'd last week before I picked it up, but might get my mechanic to check the fuel filter while doing the flaps.

Recommend getting that done at the same time as the Vortex breather?
Clutch seems to be OK. Not heard of that mod. What does that do?
Most of my BMW knowledge so far comes from my 1 Series and seeing what carries over to the X3.
