Question for Jason.... or anyone else who may know

As title says a question for you Jase or Dom...or if anyone else has any input
The x is playing up a little and cranks/turns over for a lot longer than normal before starting.Once started it will run ok but doesn't seem to have full power and i keep getting the 'Fuel injection system' warning flashing up on the dash.
I have scanned it and the warning/code i keep getting is ' Plausibility rail-pressure volume regulated'
Can you shed any light on this for me fella as the x is apita at the mo

I was thinking injectors or maybe a sensor as it doesn't seem permanent (it cut out and died the other day but then re started and ran fine )but to be honest i have no idea at the moment

If it's a Diesel, is it the Common Rail Fuel pressure perhaps? There's a sensor on it somewhere even though the fault code almost sounds like a bad Google translation

Could it also be low fuel pressure caused by a clogged fuel filter? I've had a quick scan on the Web and it could indicate a fuel pressure regulator error. Item 2 in the diagram - used my 2005 as the basis for getting the drawing.

Yeah i have to agree the warning message is a strange one.I have also posted on xoutpost as there are a few bmw techs on there that know there stuff but being a diesel i'm not expecting too many answers .
One guy says that the Most common issue with that error code is a faulty rail sensor pressure switch.Which is number 3 on that link but at £180 i want to check over the engine first to make sure i haven't disturbed anything when doing my other jobs
I love my x but damn these beasts can be frustrating with all the sensors etc.............i sometimes whish i still had my little (original) mini's .......when they broke down you could throw a spanner at them.........or just carry them home

Oh I hear you loud and clear on the sensor issues, and things were sooooo much easier when as you say you could fix it in 5 minutes!! These days I suspect a lot of us just open the boennet, take one look at what's there and shut the bonnet quietly - then yell NURSE!! I think a short engine for my old Cavalier cost less than this sensor and the SatNav Discs combined

I could do with changing the breather valve and air filter on ours but I could do with a manual to see exactly what to take off. I have the technical ability and probably the right tools as I used to do all my own servicing. Can't do things like the brakes as a spinal injury stops me working at low levels - fine on a lift though. No one seems to have written a Diesel manual though - which is why this group is so important and useful. We need a pdf area with all the how to guides written up
