Upper front grilles

Post by dal.a » Thu Jun 04, 2015 6:40 am

Anyone know if they hard to change ? Mine have fallen to bits but really don't want to take the front bumper off to change them.

Straight forward to refit replacements - they have plastic clips that are moulded into each grille around the perimeter, each grille unclips, but removing them will likely destroy the clips, then each kidney grill disassembles further from the chromed finish surround.

They can be changed without removing the bumper, I did ours.

They slide to lock into position, so just a case of sliding along and carefully bending enough. Some screwdrivers will help in manipulating bits you can't reach with fingers. It's a right faff but once you've done one side the second will be much easier.

That's good to hear, I'll have a look at it later, I have long skinny arms so that might help :)

Good info.  I need to replace both upper and lower as both have cracks in.

Anyone got a handle on prices?  Is it an eBay or similar or dealer only?

On looking at them, replacing does looking tricky in respect to sliding them in.

Cheers.

eBay may be a long shot, scrap yard or dealer.

Have a look at Realoem to get the part numbers and see what you can find. :)

Just to report back, I ordered some genuine ones off eBay from a guy in Croatia that arrived with no problems. I ripped the old ones out as they were so brittle it was very easy and just eased the new ones in from above.

Took around 10 mins.
