Hi all I'm about to buy my mums 2004 x3 with only 50,000 miles on the clock , it's always been serviced at no expense spared so that's why I want it but it's 3litre petrol automatic so worried a it about fuel cost
Has anyone done lp g gas conversion ? Do there make much of a difference to mpg ? Is it good for the engine ?
Also any upgrades to make the interior better & ice ? It's completely standard
Cheers

Re: Newbie to x3
i had a 3.0i x5 on lpg with no issues, the mpg is no better in fact its around 20% worse on gas, the gains are made with the cost of a fill up been around 1/2 the price, just make sure you calculate your usage first as it can take tens of thousands of miles before you brake even on the cost to convert, there is a place near me that actually stopped doing conversions as he felt there was no longer any advantages to it with the cost of lpg going up and the cost of conversion,

Re: Newbie to x3
That's interesting so it may not be worth looking at gas conversion
what about towing ? with the automatic or is it best to use the semi gears ?
