Engine malfunction, reduced power...

Post by 1991_Boy » Thu Jul 30, 2015 1:17 pm

Hey guys!

I have recently bought a 57 plate x5 3.0d M sport and I am having a problem with it.

The problem is when I tend to accelerate hard e.g slip road building up speed to join motorway or dual carriage when my foot is planted, I get a 'reduce engine' thingy on the I drive.

Now I have scanned it with my trusty bmw c110 scanner and below is what has been discovered with an engine fault code. Please can someone help me as soon as possible as I have bought it from a garage forecourt 3 weeks ago and if it's something major, I will be returning it.

P.S car has been serviced just a couple days ago with me supplying all the fluids and filters etc

Kind regards

Just got off the phone to the warranty company and they won't pay for diagnostics but just parts etc. Seems worthless if you ask me and local Indy wants £65ph + vat.

Has anyone on here experienced this problem before? Please help as I'm pulling my hair out stressing about this argh!!

Can you tell us what the solution was?
Hope all resolved now.

Pretty certain that's an injector fault. Injectors which don't perform well will cause lack of fuel getting through and reduce power delivery.
