Engine Decontamintation

Post by Bubbaspaarx » Sun Jul 19, 2015 11:46 am

Just thought I would see if anyone has ever had a decontamination done by EDT Automotive or one of their machines.

Had been looking online at oil additives to improve mpg and performance etc (curiosity really) when i stumbled across EDT. They are based near me in Ashford Kent and seems like a really interesting product. They connect a machine to your car and pump a warm bio oil through your engine to remove the crap (think colon cleanse but for your car). No additives left in and just means you get the full effect of your new oil. Had a quick chat with the owner and he has 60 odd machines nationwide and done about 13k cars. Anyone of you had it done?

They have a youtube channel too and a vid of dealership mechanics after driving their cars post decontamination. Results seem pretty positive and there's one of a dyno test for a chrysler crossfire.

They charge £149 inc oil and filters or £79 if you BYO kit. Think i'm gonna book myself in and my bro too with his M3. Will let you know the results.

So went along with my dad and brother this morning to Mid Kent Vehicle Services near Maidstone and met with the EDT team to get our cars decontaminated. Process took about 40 minutes from driving in to driving out.

Main benefits are
improved MPG
Improved throttle response
Smoother engine
Quieter
More power

Here is the machine

Here's my average MPG (32.4)

Here is the 3 micron filter used in the process and that's the soya oil at the bottom which is used to pump through the engine

Drained as normal until its just dripping out, then machine is plugged in and off we go. (process is completed 3 times with a final air pressure and vacuum)

Would like to thank David, Simon and Sean from EDT. Could feel a definite change in the character of the X3. Drove back and averaged 38.6! 20% increase in economy. Will need some more miles to make sure it's accurate but all of the benefits were felt. Much improved.
