Audio Streaming
Audio Streaming
Afternoon All!
Hope you are well. Sooooooo I have sold my BMW 730D and am in the process of purchasing a 2008 BMW X5 M-sport. It has most extras however does not have audio streaming (from your iphone for example).
What is the most cost effective way to achieve this on an E70?
By complete accident I discovered that music can be heard using in-car speakers using the Parrot bluetooth telephone kit however I dont want to stall this as the X5 will have the factory fitted bluetooth phone already.
So....what should I be doing? Helpppppppppppp!!

Re: Audio Streaming
a cheap fix would be to buy a blackberry a2dp music gateway ( about £20 on ebay ) then a car charger for it to plug into cig lighter, airport could plug into the aux in within glovebox. Then maybe take power off the 12v cig lighter in rear ( hide it ) and feed it into glovebox. All in £25, and a cheap solution.

Re: Audio Streaming
Thanks mate!
Thats certainly a very cheap option and good as a plan B. Ideally I was looking a bit more 'professional' and with less wires etc. etc?

Re: Audio Streaming
There is no factory option for it. That didn't arrive until 2010.

Re: Audio Streaming
Thanks chaps. Could I just get a parrot system purely for the streaming? I would want to use the BMW system for calls etc?

It would be totally hidden in glove box, pick up 12v going to cig rear lighter in rear, could easily make it look neat with no wires etc.

Re: Audio Streaming
Ive just looked into the same problem, want to stream music as well as use the inbuilt phone kit. being a 2007 E70, there is no inbuilt system, but picked this little adapter up on ebay for £4.59 inc postage. Works a treat, charge it up, plug into the AUX socket and connect your phone up. It does have a call option too, so you need to de-select this on your phone so its audio only, then phone works thro car bluetooth as normal, and music streams to adapter.

Re: Audio Streaming
Have you deleted all existing pairings first? Only 4 entries permitted then needs clearing out.

Re: Audio Streaming
In fairness Im not sure how to do that so bought this to see if it would support connection
Re: Audio Streaming
It's in the manual...
"The pairing procedure must first be activated, and then the send/receive
button on the installed eject-box or the pairing button located at the rear of the center console must again be depressed for an additional 10 seconds after the “Bluetooth Pairing” message is displayed on the radio in order to clear the list of paired devices from the control module and the message “paired devices deleted” is displayed."
