Hi, I am new to the forum,though I have had my 2010 X3 2.0d M sport for 4 years.
Recently my aircon stopped working and so I had it checked, leak tested and re-gassed at a local auto A/C specialist.
He informed me that the aircon system was ok, but that it wouldn't run beause my engine cooling fan is not working, and switching the A/C on pulls in the fan.
I am using the car daily and the engine temp looks fine, but no cooling fan; no A/C.
Can anyone help me to locate the engine temperature sensor so I can check the electrical connection? and also how do you get the engine cover off? I've never had to touch mine as the car had the 5 years service and parts package!
I checked the cost of replacing the fan motor/Coupling from BMW and they want an eye watering £530 incl. VAT for a whole new Fan assembly (which you can't buy parts for)
Let's hope its just a faulty sensor or switch!!! Anyone else experienced this?
Cheers
