Obviously thats bad but looking at the bigger picture spaces just arn't large enough for the modern cars, even new car parks are spaced ultra tight, so the combination of small spaces and the obesity crisis is leaing to alot more parking dings and selfish parking.

Several years ago it was pointed out that most single and double garages have been the same size since the 1960's but the average family car is now more than 30% bigger and many won't fit.
Local planning officers have ignored the change, as have the big home builders. The theory being that it might force people out of cars, or to buy smaller ones!
Forcing them to build bigger isn't 'green' and reduces the profitability of the land and forces prices up! So as usual no common sense, just misguided policy and financial greed rules...... >:(
