My ELM327 adapter arrived this morning, and after buying the Carly app I've managed to code the digital speedo and folding mirrors on lock/unlock of my X6
Cheers

Nice one....how much was that option when the car was new i wonder?

Just upload the e90 cas program with the setting for time delay = 0sec then it is complete.

I also like the comfort setting when the car is unlocked the interior and exterior lights come on at once.

Carly app has been updated and you can now regenerate the dpf

That's interesting, I must have a look at that later. Does it tell you when the car last did a DPF regen, or the %full it is?  That would be very useful as I had problems with a previous diesel DPF after trying to drive economically for too long, even on motorway journey's. That was before I knew about all the problems with modern diesels clogging up.

Cheers,
AJP

Further update - selected E90 and automatic engine recognition then changed the CAS setting for mirror fold time delay to 0.0sec and it worked fine, mirrors now fold instantly on lock (and of course unlock).

Great find guys

Phil.

Has anyone told Parvis about this work around - maybe he can work the option back into the E70/71 coding options.
[/quote]

I believe that it may have been Parvis who suggested the work-around to a US owner who logged a support call.  The user was informed that the functionality was accidentally removed in a previous app update, and had not yet been restored.  Carly for BMW app was updated recently again, but it looks to me like most of the new functionality is about adding more new vehicles rather than adding more functions to existing ones like the E70:

"Change Log:
Z4/E85 and F-Models: More engines integrated, Live Parameters now possible. Please test for your car and send us a session log with remarks, should it not work.
Icons in Cockpit: We have tested the Icons after some problems last time. Now they are back in."

Yes you can.  It won't be in the iDrive as it's illegal to have a TV screen visible to the driver.....Vehicle Construction & Use regulations.....in the UK (as well as elsewhere).

Just followed this thread and bought the unit from ebay (from splangs link) for £9. Carly app from App store for £35 and worked a treat on our 40d. did the E90 settings for the mirrors folding in without delay (3 series i think) then usual E70 settings for digital speedo, the manner the lights come on when unlocking and of course the obligatory diagnostic check to make sure BMW arent shirking from their responsibilities for the warranty.
We have a fault with our nearside wing mirror which BMW are sorting (once the part comes in) which only is identifiable on a diagnostic.
very valuable thread and well worth the £44 total i think
