Outstanding MPG
Re: Outstanding MPG
I should have mentioned for comparison purposes, mine is a 3.0d made in August 2007 with 114k on the clock.
Re: Outstanding MPG
42K in from new and avg 31-32 with mixed driving using supermarket fuel (Tesco / Sainsbury)
If I go on long run at 60 get 40-44mpg, though this quickly drops to 39-40 once you get into running around town again.
I don't believe the hype on branded fuel, did run car over 4 or so fill up and felt slight urge in acceleration (most likely down to additives as used the performance version of branded fuel) and 1mpg increase. Unable to confirm it was fuel or a perceived change in driving style as I was watching mpg during this time.
Now its supermarket and I use an additive to a full tank every 5-6K to help clean system (you do notice slight oomph on that tank full, so additive does add to burn in cylinder - same sook, bigger bang, same blow
