Not sure if you are referring to coding but things like closing boot and folding door mirrors are possible

For connect drive there is a charge of £120 pa for the apps. I registered for connect drive this week but i didnt see any real benefit of these services.

Lock/Unlock/locate within 1.5km is the UK functions limit and is controlled by the BMW servers.  As with the Apps, you need to maintain your BMW Assist subscription or you will lose access to them as the function is via the on board SIM.

Have a look at bmwcoders dot com for ideas about what can be done.  There are all sorts of tricks available if you are brave enough, have the right software and reference files (DATEN) for your car series.....and understand German as the coding is in that language.

Mirrors, tailgate opening/closing from inside (needs a powered tailgate option of course), lights, dash indications.  There are a lot of very knowledgable folks over there who can help.  Some is just a software switch but others need the right modules to be there.

There is a BMW Apps retrofit kit if you have the necessary pre-requisites. These usually include professional nav, smartphone audio integration, convenience telephony.

Check with your dealer. Its going to be expensive, so don't be shocked if they quote £600 or so including labour. I had mine retro-fitted to a previous 6 series with CIC navigation.

But it is.  It's part of the paid 'BMW Assist' option, not a feature of the car.  First three years are free, then you pay.

Dealers will only retrofit the official kits offered by BMW.  Anything else not part of a kit is down to each of us individually.

I'm assuming you're talking about the BMW remote App which I have and to be honest does only Lock/unlock whereas for other models they can remotely activate/deactivate a lot more and as posted free for 3 years from first subscription.

Regards to BMW Apps 6NR option which I didn't order from factory but had dealer program after purchasing the FSC code plus the cable from CIC to snapin under the armrest to save £'s fitted myself works pretty well with video stored on your iPhone on the CIC screen.

Personally that's too much £'s for what really is a 10-20mins max to code assuming you have electric folding mirrors option fitted, find someone local to you or you fancy getting into coding buy the cable and code yourself more options!

There is.  Have a look on bmwcoders dot com.  Everything you need is on there.  You will need a laptop that can run run XP, or a VM of it in 32-bit mode.  The BMW system doesn't natively support 64-bit or OSs newer than XP.

The base data files are about 9GB though.....beware.
